Project 365, Day 363 (12/29/09) We WON! We WON!

I posted Jackson's newspaper photo a couple of days ago (Look HERE)and had mentioned the books the Ludington Daily News was giving away. Well, today I found out that we won a book! How cool is that?

I'm going to laminate the newspaper photos and stick them in the book as a little keepsake. Thank you so much, Ludington Daily News, for the awesome book!

Project 365, Day 362, (12/28/09) LEGO Invitations

E-Gads! I can't believe how incredibly close to Christmas Jackson's birthday is. I have a party to plan!

At least the invites are taken care of. Now on with the rest!

"All the world is birthday cake, so take a piece, but not too much." ~ George Harrison

Project 365, Day 361 (12/27/09) Rockin' out

Just a couple of the new band in town, jammin' on Liz's pink guitar, etc. that she received from Santa.

"I don't know anything about music. In my line you don't have to." ~ Elvis Presley

Project 365, Day 360 (12/26/09) Famous!

A few days before Christmas, the Ludington Daily News began running a request for Christmas morning photos, so I sent in one of each of the kids. We were all pleasantly surprised the next morning to see Jackson gracing the cover of the newspaper!

(Okay... so I'm not Bethany "Monton", but I can live with that!) :)

The LDN will be chosing five people from the entries to receive a Christmas pop-up book. How fun! I'll let you know how it turns out.

Project 365, Day 359 (12/25/09) Christmas! Here at last!

These little faces are what it's all about...

Project 365, Day 358 (12/24/09) Home at last

Just relaxing today, cooking up some goodies with my sweeties. Can't wait for morning to come! :)

Project 365, Day 357 (12/23/09) Pre-Christmas, Part Deux

Aaaaaaaand continuing the pre-Christmas festivities today, we visited my Grandma, Mom, and sister Angie.

Project 365, Day 356 (12/22/09) Pre-Christmas

We traveled across the state tonight to celebrate Christmas early with my Dad.

Seeing my family is always wonderful... but it almost makes me miss them more!

"Christmas, my child, is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, it's Christmas." - Dale Evans Rogers

Project 365, Day 355 (12/21/09) My favorite kind

Another homemade Christmas decoration to brighten up our house. This was an early Christmas gift from Jackson.

"Christmas is not just a time for festivity and merry making. It is more than that. It is a time for the contemplation of eternal things. The Christmas spirit is a spirit of giving and forgiving." - J. C. Penney

Project 365, Day 354 (12/20/09) The party continues!

Today I had the pleasure of helping out with Jackson's classroom Christmas party.

We made reindeer cupcakes, played games (including the most INTENSE game of musical chairs ever,)

and finished off the afternoon by assembling sticky little milk carton "gingerbread houses". FUN STUFF! :)

"At Christmas play and make good cheer, For Christmas comes but once a year." - Thomas Tusser "The Farmer's Daily Diet"

Project 365, Day 353 (12/19/09) Santa Party

Today we had a great time at the Santa party at Sandcastles Children's museum.

Liz hopped right up on St.Nick's lap and blasted out all the things she wanted for Christmas (which changes daily, by the way...). She also announced to the jolly old man that she helps mom do laundry!

More from our fun day...

Project 365, Day 351 (12/17/09) Christmas card preview

Our Christmas cards came today! YAY! Nothing like waiting til the last minute, but I'm thoroughly pleased with the outcome! :)

Project 365, Day 349 (12/15/09) The countdown is on!

"Once again we find ourselves enmeshed in the Holiday Season, that very special time of year when we join with our loved ones in sharing centuries-old traditions such as trying to find a parking space at the mall. We traditionally do this in my family by driving around the parking lot until we see a shopper emerge from the mall, then we follow her, in very much the same spirit as the Three Wise Men, who 2,000 years ago followed a star, week after week, until it led them to a parking space." ~Dave Barry

Project 365, Day 348 (12/14/09) To be added

Hmmm not sure what happened here, but I'll fix it later!

(Is it 365 YET?!?) :)

Project 365, Day 347 (12/13/09) Lights

It wasn't easy getting this photo (it was slightly snowing), and it isn't the best photo... but here it is anyway!

"Perhaps the best Yuletide decoration is being wreathed in smiles." ~Author Unknown

Project 365, Day 346 (12/12/09) Pretzel Party!

Today we invited over a few friends for a pretzel-making party!

Every year Marc and I make chocolate-covered pretzels, and though this year they might not have been as "pretty" - we sure had more fun making them!

If you're interested, get yourself some pretzel rods, chocolate almond bark, vanilla almond bark, and toppings (crushed candy canes, pecans, cashews, almonds, heath bits, mini m&ms, decorative sprinkles, etc). Melt the bark and spread a thin layer on a pretzel. Set on wax paper to dry. When completely dry, spread on another thin coat of chocolate or vanilla and roll in your topping of choice.

Project 365, Day 343 (12/9/09) A special message from your friends at Project 365.

*Sigh*

I've lost track of how many times I've, uh, lost track of this project. Now, don't get me wrong - I truly have taken a photo EVERY DAY this year. But somewhere between my camera and my blog, things have gotten a little screwy. I don't want to point any fingers, but the problem may exist somewhere between the chair and keyboard, if you catch my drift. However, I'm laying part of the blame on Blogger... don't ask. Sometimes it likes to mess with you.

Anyhow, I want to thank those of you who spent the last year keeping up with my sometimes very random postings. This has been quite a journey, and I appreciate you coming along for the ride. Please accept my apologies for the spontaneous numbering, as it's gotten away on me a few times. And also for the 2 or 3 photos that were lost in some worm hole somewhere, never to be seen again.

Thank you.

Project 365, Day 342 (12/8/09) Just Liz.

Just Liz.

Just a goofy little crazy-haired, pajama-wearin', kitty-holding, highlighter-coloring little girl.

"Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree. In the eyes of children, they are all 30 feet tall." ~Larry Wilde, The Merry Book of Christmas

Project 365, Day 340 (12/6/09) First, our house. Then they take over THE WORLD!!!

We had a pre-Christmas Christmas with Marc's mom and dad today, and the boys received some super cute Lego sets from them.

However... I'm starting to wonder WHERE the heck we're supposed to keep these things!

Project 365, Day 339 (12/5/09) Time to par-tay!

Tonight our company Christmas party was held at the beautiful Cartier Mansion downtown. This is... I think the third year that we've held it there and they never, ever disappoint!

As a special treat, my dear friend Deb and her hubby Alan attended, driving all the way from Cadillac to be with us!
